Golden Curry, Reigate

Saturday 18th February 2012

As a fan of old school Curry Houses, it's the details that count. Straight away Golden Curry was scoring highly just with their poppadum dips!

As well as the classic carrousel of mango chutney, lime pickle, onion salad and mint sauce, they had a spicy red sauce. I have no idea what's in it but it was lovely.

I suppose with a name like 'Golden Curry' you know it's not going to be one of the pretentious Indian restaurants that are becoming more and more common. Names like 'Spice Fusion' and 'Cinnamon Lounge'  tell you everything. Style over substance.

Golden curry get all of the little touches right.  Top curry house!!
We ordered Balti chicken Tika Dansak (Vindaloo hot) and Chicken Balti Dopiaza, with mushroom bhaji and Kulchi naan. You don't see Balti's very much in the South of England but it's something Golden curry specialise in and it really was top notch. In fact I would struggle to find fault with this place at all!
