Shampan 2

Saturday 18th August 2012

After the first day of the football season had inflicted the old familiar misery on us, the CCB drowned our sorrows in Bromley before visiting Shampan 2, on Chatterton Rd.

‘The Shampan Group’ has become big news in the area.  They already have a small chain of restaurants, with one in Welling and their flagship venue in Westerham.  Shampan 2 is smart but has a warm, vibrant atmosphere.  Or to put it another way, it’s posh enough for special occasions, yet I would still class it as a ‘curry house’, so they’re definitely doing something right!

There is a varied range of dishes to choose from but the curry house classics are also done well.  With some restaurants these days, ‘standards’ like tikka Masala’s and vindaloo’s are something of an afterthought, if not actually discouraged but Shampan know what their customers want and they deliver a strong all-round menu.

I enjoyed the evening and can see why Shampan 2 has such a good reputation.  On a previous visit we saw former Heavyweight & Cruiserweight Champion of the World, David Haye and his trainer Adam Booth enjoying a ruby in here  -  and if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for us!
