Aladin, Brick Lane

Sat 25th February 2012

A few of us has been in East London drinking after watching Palace’s trip to West Ham and decided to visit Brick Lane on the way back.  Aladin is one of the most highly rated restaurants on Brick Lane boasting a string of awards and accolades.

Apparently the BBC included Aladin on its list of 'The World's Best Curry Houses' and Capital Radio listed The Aladin Restaurant as 'One of the Top 10 Greatest Indian Restaurants in London Ever!' -  and it’s even recommended by Prince Charles apparently.  So quite a build up!

Their ‘BYOB’ policy meant I had to go down the road to their affiliated corner shop to get any beer, which isn’t exactly ideal.  We had the mixed Indian Hors d'oeuvres to start and everyone commented on how good the chicken tikka was.  So tender it just fell apart.  I had Lamb vindaloo with extra Naga chilli.  Seriously, seriously hot. It actually made me question whether I should ease up on the hot curries - but I soon snapped out of it!
