'Masala', Tunbridge Wells

Friday 2nd March 2012
Submitted by 'Boiler Bag'

When Ed at work announced he was leaving the company after 7 years, we did the only thing you can do to a respected colleague – take him out for a farewell curry!  With Ed moving to Wales and not being sure what standards the Welsh have in curry, this needed to be a good place to give him a send-off.

SCORE:
MENU - All the traditional dishes plus quite a few special dishes                      7/10
HEAT - Plenty of hot dishes. Though not as hot as some places.                       9/10
SETTING - Buried deep in 'old style' Tunbridge. Dificult to find                          7/10
SPEED - Even though there were 15 of us, was very reasonable                        6/10
WAITERS - The staffs English made ordering a 'linguistical challenge'!             7/10
BEER - Cobra and Kingfisher only.                                                                          3/10
PRICE - Not one of the 15 complained, so all good!                                               6/10
ATMOS - Quite relaxed. Old style building, Modern inside. Loads of room.       8/10
OPEN LATE - 11pm but if you got there late, they wouldn't turn you away         7/10
BONUS - None. You'd have thought they'd stretch to a brandy but nevermind
4/10
