RajDoot in the sleepy village of Downe, near Orpington was the venue as the CCB welcomed several new members. The restaurant put on a ‘banquet deal’ during the week which includes a starter, side dish, main course & rice (or naan) for a set price. This makes it very good value for what is high quality food. In fact, this score puts it amongst the top two curry houses that we’ve reviewed in Bromley so far!
Proper Balti dish, containing the deadly 'ultra-hot' chicken Balti
MENU: Good menu – a wide variety of specialities and Balti options 8/10
HEAT: Traditional dishes were well spiced. The “Ultra-Hot Balti” was ridiculous!! 9/10
SETTING: In a quaint village with two good pubs nearby. Pleasant if a little remote 7/10
SERVICE: No problems or long waits 8/10
STAFF: All friendly enough 7/10
BEER: Only the usual’s. Cobra was bottled and on draft 7/10
PRICE: It was their mid-week banquet night so it was very reasonable 8/10
ATMOS: Nice but lacking character. Felt like an old ladies front room 6/10
OPEN HRS: 18:00-23:30 7/10
BONUS: No complimentary drinks but all the portions are very generous. 5/10
