Meet the CCB

In this blog, I often refer to 'the CCB', the group that visits all these curry houses and whose opinions the Chilli Diaries is based on.  Some of the literally several people who read the blog may wonder who these people actually are, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to introduce: ‘The Curry Connoisseurs of Bromley Gentlemen’s Club’

                                                                                            Dennis

FAVOURITE DISH:  Chicken Tikka Masala, madras hot

'INTERESTING' FACT:  If a venue has no carpet or flock wallpaper, Dennis automatically marks them down by at least 20%.

 Paul Coveney

FAVOURITE DISH:  Chicken Madras and chips

'INTERESTING' FACT:  ‘The Cove’ always orders this same dish despite the fact that it gives him chronic hiccups.

  Boiler Bag

FAVOURITE DISH:  Lamb Naga

'INTERESTING' FACT:    CCB correspondent, Boiler claims this is the only time he has ever drunk a half-pint.  No-one believes him.

 Crispy

FAVOURITE DISH:  Chicken Jalfrezi

'INTERESTING' FACT:  ‘Rain Man' Crispy can remember every curry house he has ever been in.  

Richie

FAVOURITE DISH:  Keema Bhuna, with keema rice & keema naan – with extra meat.

'INTERESTING' FACT:  Richie would rather die in a house fire than become vegetarian.

Mini Vinny

FAVOURITE DISH:  Chicken Korma

'INTERESTING' FACT:  Despite his love of korma’s & dislike of beer, Mini insists that he is in fact heterosexual.

Nobby

FAVOURITE DISH:  Chicken Balti Special

'INTERESTING' FACT:  Nobby believes curry actually tastes better when you’re naked.

Beano

FAVOURITE DISH:  Chicken Dansak

'INTERESTING' FACT:  Beano talks so loudly, his work stories have been heard as far away as Mumbai.



Gav

FAVOURITE DISH:  Chicken Korma

'INTERESTING' FACT:  Gav gives the highest ratings in the CCB believing that everything is “quality”!

Murali

FAVOURITE DISH:  King Prawn Madras

'INTERESTING' FACT:   Murali's Sri Lankan roots make the clubs only actual curry expert.

 

Luke ‘Frank’ Edmunds 

FAVOURITE DISH:  Tandoori Duck Masala

'INTERESTING' FACT:  The Club’s ‘Mr Nasty’, Luke averages at giving the lowest scores of all CCB members.

Worders

FAVOURITE DISH:  Butter Chicken

'INTERESTING' FACT:  Worders knows the owners of every Indian restaurant in the Greater London area.

Dave 'Beastie' Fleckney

FAVOURITE DISH:  Lamb Saag Ghosht, vindaloo hot

'INTERESTING' FACT:  After years of Phaal abuse, Dave has destroyed all but 3 of his taste buds.
