Beano and I had been to the ‘Crystal Palace Beer Festival’ at Selhurst Park, where 130-plus beers and ciders were available. After trying as many as we could, we thought we’d stop for a ruby on our way through Croydon.
As they’re currently not fully licensed for alcohol, they have a ‘bring your own bottle’ policy which although unexpected, didn’t detract from the experience. There is a corner shop just next door, so we bought a four pack of beer from there and it actually worked out considerably cheaper.
Beano and Beastie
I had prawn puree to start which was tasty, delicately spiced and filled with generously sized prawns. Chicken Bhuna had a thick, slightly sour gravy and a good spicy kick as requested. The stuffed pathia bread was nice but too heavy for me to finish!
Good food, good staff and in a prime location, this place deserves to be busier.
