Spice Fusion, Biggin Hill

9th June 2012
Submitted By 'Boiler Bag'

This weekend the Euros started and Matt, Richey and myself went for a few liveners to watch the Dutch disappoint, and the Germans put in the usual solid performance.

The choice of curry venue was controversial, with some members of the CCB having been refused entry few years back.

Would history repeat itself? Or would Spice Fusion re-establish themselves in the CCB good books?

The Poppadums arrive…
SCORE;
MENU: This menu had an array of ‘classic’ dishes as well as some chef specialities                                                                                                                          7/10

HEAT: The Pathia I had was well spiced, with a sweet aftertaste – not exactly a mind blower but nice nonetheless                                                                                  8/10

SETTING: Biggin Hill has 2 other venues, which are old favourites with the CCB. Seems to hold it’s own against these                                                                                       7/10

SERVICE: They were on the ball and happy to help                             7/10

STAFF: One of the waiters was up for a laugh; his favourite WWE wrestler was The Undertaker – a good choice                                                                                      9/10

DRINKS: Cobra and Kingfisher, either draft or bottled choices   7/10

PRICE: Worked out about £21 per person for main, side, poppadum, rice and drink each. Not bad for Saturday night prices                                                                       7/10

ATMOS: Tends to lean itself more towards ‘Indian Restaurant’ rather than ‘Curry House’. Modern décor rather than classic.                                                                    7/10

OPENING HOURS: Not 100% sure, but definitely closes earlier than it’s competitors.                                                                                                                           6/10

BONUS: Food came very quickly – within 10 mins of ordering and the meat quality was excellent. No complimentary drink though which was the only disappointment of the night.                                                                                                                                             6/10

Give it a go,  you won’t be disappointed.  A good alternative to the other venues in Biggin Hill
